Our Mission:
Go to a Senegalese community (near Saint Louis) to train caregivers/teachers in trauma-informed care and how to build and maintain a trauma-informed care farm to help run-away talibe children “Learn + Grow + Heal.”
Date: March 25 - April 4, 2026
Cost: $30K to send our team of 9 professional and licensed therapists and care farmers
This is our WHY
Tens of thousands of talibe children are homeless, neglected, abused, and exploited by Quranic school teachers, marabouts. Many impoverished families send their kids to the schools (daara) for religious indoctrination (talibe is Arabic for discipline), education, and care. Unfortunately, many marabouts exploit the talibe to beg for food and money on the streets. The daaras are places of unspeakable abuse and many children prefer life on the street to returning to the daaras. These children have endured unspeakable trauma and care givers seek equipping to better help talibe children flourish.

“Every day I try not to cry. Every day I try not to scream. I don't sleep. I just close my eyes and imagine myself in a different place.” - Amadou, a 15-year-old talibe.
